For more than three decades, Indian Valley Theatre’s main mission has been to bring a quality, live theatre experience to the Fox Valley and provide a meaningful opportunity for those aspiring to perform and participate in the theatre arts — all at an affordable box office price. With every performance, we continue to work away at that goal and strongly believe that our presence adds to the cultural richness of the Fox Valley. Make live theatre affordable in the Fox Valley;

Offer our annual children’s and teen theatre workshops that provide budding school-age students the opportunity to build their on stage confidence;

Improve the quality and safety of our staging and equipment, some of which is more than 20 years old;

For more than three decades, IVT has remained an all-volunteer organization, always operating on a shoestring budget and striving to hold the line on costs. Costs that include renting the theater, paying a fee for each performance and a portion of the proceeds to the Opera House, a revered community gem. Author royalties and scripts often add up to thousands of dollars, especially for popular musicals. Then there’s the expense of creating costumes, purchasing supplies and building sets, maintaining equipment for lights and sound, and printing programs and posters.

The dream of live community theatre born from improvised underground green rooms is all grown up! Live community theatre is alive and kicking because of the support of Indian Valley Theatre patrons. From Sandwich to Somonauk to Plano, Yorkville and Newark, Serena, Hinckley-Big Rock and all points in between, this theatre is your theatre.
