Murder on the Rerun
Written by Fred Carmichael
Directed by Linda Whaley,
Produced by Sharon Pagoria
Performances: October 18 & 19th at 7:30pm, October 20th at 2pm
“Murder on the Rerun” takes a different approach to mystery as a ghost tries to find out who murdered her in a witty, sophisticated, yet suspenseful look at the upper crust of Hollywood. Oscar winning screen writer, Jane, is dead at the bottom of the stairs in a Vermont ski lodge. “I was pushed!” she says as her ghost rises. Aided by Kitty, a rather wanton adviser from “up there,” Jane is brought ahead to the present, three years after the murder. The same group is gathered: Jane’s husband who has married an ambitious ingénue, a heading for middle age leading lady, an arrogant director, and Hollywood’s reigning gossip columnist. The five suspects join together to keep the possible murder quiet for reasons of their own but their relationship busts apart with their mutual distrust. Woven through the suspense in humorous, acidic, and revealing comedy is an extraordinary whodunit with a surprise denouement when the murderer is revealed.
Written by Phil Olson
Directed by Connie Cline
Performances: December 6th & 7th at 7:30pm, December 8th at 2pm
Indian Valley Theatre is proud to have been chosen as one of 11 community theatre companies across the U.S. to produce the World Premiere of “A Twisted Christmas Carol!” This is a Texas spoof of Charles Dicken’s classic story written by Phil Olson who co-wrote “Don’t Hug Me.” It’s Christmas Eve in a small west Texas town and cantankerous barbecue joint owner Buford Johnson gets in an argument with his wife, Darla. He tells her he’s skipping Christmas, he storms out of the restaurant, goes four wheeling in his pickup, gets hit by a twister, rolls his truck, and goes into a coma. He comes back in his dream where he’s visited by ex-business partner, Hank Walker, who plays the ghost of Christmas past, present, and future. Hank takes Buford (Scrooge) on a journey similar to that in Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” only Texas style.
A Fairy Tale play based on the story of the Brothers Grimm
