HOW IT WORKS
Indian Valley Theatre is a not-for-profit, member-driven organization democratically controlled by its members. All decisions regarding IVT’s operations are made by you, our members, who are represented by a board of directors. This board consists of unpaid volunteers, elected by and from the membership.
At each monthly meeting, IVT business is conducted, including a review of financial statements, expenses, and various initiatives. Show reports are given by directors and new business is introduced.
At these meetings, committee chairs also provide updates. Committees are the muscle of IVT. These are the groups that get the hard work done month after month so the organization can keep progressing and being successful. Some committees, like Publicity, are a permanent fixture, while others are run on an as-needed basis, like committees to study the need for new costumes or to write a grant proposal.
Indian Valley Theatre Board of Directors
The Indian Valley Theatre board meets every second Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the Opera House in Sandwich. Members in good standing are welcome and encouraged to attend. They may listen to board business, and if over the age of 18, vote on IVT business matters, as well as ask questions.
