The citizens of the Russian village of Kulyenchikov are cursed by the plague of stupidity! For them, reason is unreasonable and common sense is uncommon. The trains don’t even stop there.

Everyone in this remote little Russian village seems to have been stricken with a curse of stupidity and foolishness. Some cannot remember their own names, while others light drapes on fire to provide reading light. Snetsky, the shepherd, has lost all the sheep. The mail carrier goes to at least 4 wrong addresses before delivering any item, usually to the incorrect person anyway. The vendor sells whatever she can find and calls them all fish.

Tolchinsky, the new school teacher, has arrived with a mission to lift the curse…after all…knowledge is everybody’s birthright.

Come see if this curse can be broken by attending Indian Valley Theatre’s performance of “Fools”, by Neil Simon, July 20-22 at the historic Sandwich Opera House. Tickets and more information are available at or by calling (888) 365-8889.

Indian Valley Theatre is an Illinois Not-for-Profit organization dedicated to the appreciation and development of the performing arts in the Fox Valley area.
