Indian Valley Theatre will perform “Don’t Hug Me,” on Friday, February 24 & Saturday, February 25 at 7:30pm and Sunday, February 26 at 2:00pm at the Historic Sandwich Opera House, 140 E Railroad St. in Sandwich, IL. IVT would like to introduce William Wille, who is bringing the character of Ole Iverson to life. Ole is a daily patron at the Minnesota Bar “The Bunyan.”

Will states “I was originally first interested in “Don’t Hug Me” because it sounded like a ton of fun, but did not end up auditioning. I didn’t feel like I had the chops to pull off a musical for my second-ever theatre production. But then I was approached by the producers about the character of Ole, which I think is a good compromise.”

Will was first seen in Indian Valley Theatre’s Sandwich Fair Melodramas in 2016 where he took his maiden voyage into acting as “Steamboat Billy” in the “Showtime on the Showboat or Don’t Throw Garbage in the River.”

Ole is quiet, reserved and likes to keep to himself but can come out of his shell with a little persuasion – a lot like me,” Will says. “Anyone who knows me knows that choreography and I don’t mix unless I’m “heavily medicated with beer,” as “Gunner” (The Bunyan’s co-owner) says. So this show has definitely been a growing experience! The script is absolutely hilarious. From the north woods accent to the idiosyncrasies of the local dialect, there’s a ton of material to work with. Sure it’s a little over the top at times, but there’s also some tenderness, funny songs and dance in between. My biggest challenge is trying to keep a straight face through both acts. This cast is very talented and the crew is great. One of my favorite things about being involved in local community theatre is watching a random group of actors gel and a show take shape over many weeks of practices.”

Will is the Media and Public Relations Manager for the Academy of Osseointegration in Arlington Heights. He lives in Yorkville with wife Jen, who performed alongside him as “Captain Lucy” in the “Showboat” melodrama.  They have two children, Ashlyn, who also performed as Violet, the Flower Girl in “Showboat” and Keegan, who isn’t quite old enough to be an IVT actor, but already definitely loves the stage.  He also keeps himself busy by being a leader for Keegan’s Bear Den for Cub Scout Pack 350 in Yorkville.

Will is also a partner of the Wheelhouse|Five Team who have generously donated their talents, time and expertise to totally revamp and update IVT’s website as well as assist in other marketing projects. Wheelhouse|Five provides exceptional Marketing and Advertising Services, including Graphic Design, Website Design, Social Media Strategy, Digital Advertising and Public Relations.

Will’s final statement about IVT’s “Don’t Hug Me” is, “I think IVT patrons will have a great time. If anyone leaves the show without having a good belly laugh at least once, the first Grain Belt at The Bunyan is on me!”
